IUWNE v2.0:Implementing Cisco Unified Wireless Networking Essentials
Duration: 5 days Price: $3295

The Implementing Cisco Unified Wireless Networking Essentials is a 5 day ILT course, designed to help students prepare for the CCNA-Wireless certification, an associate level certification specializing in the wireless field. The IUWNE course and CCNA-Wireless certification is a prerequisite to the CCNP-Wireless (Cisco Certified Wireless Professional) curriculum. The CCNA-Wireless curriculum will prepare wireless network associate for the use, positioning, planning, implementation and operation of Cisco WLAN networks. The goal of the IUWNE v2.0 is to provide students with information and practice activities to prepare them to help design, install, configure, monitor and conduct basic troubleshooting tasks of a Cisco WLAN in SMB and Enterprise installations. As an associate level, the course aims at providing entry level information, and will not specialize in any of the advanced features of the Cisco WLAN networks solutions.

This course is available in multiple formats. You can purchase instructor-led training (ILT) in a classroom setting or virtual ILT via the web. Both the classroom ILT and virtual ILT versions of this course come with access to our state of the art remote labs that use actual Cisco equipment. For the classroom ILT version of this course, laptops are provided to participate in the hands-on labs. If you desire to use your own laptop, please bring a laptop computer with an Ethernet port as well as an internal wireless NIC, 802.11a/b/g/n. The laptop's operating systems must be Windows XP (SP3). If your operating system is Windows Vista or Windows 7, include a Terminal Emulator such as HyperTerminal. IN ADDITION, if your laptop does not contain Terminal Emulation you will need administrator rights to the laptop to install software.

After completing this course, the student should be able to:

  • Describe wireless fundamentals, such as topologies, RF principles and math, antennae, spread spectrum technologies, frames and physics, wireless regulatory bodies, standards and certifications, and the non-802.11f wireless technologies and their impact on Wi-Fi
  • Describe the Cisco Unifies Wireless Networks basics and configure a Cisco Unified Wireless Network controller and a Cisco Mobility Express controller
  • Describe and configure default operating system wireless client configuration tools, use the Cisco Aironet Desktop Utility an Site Survey Utility and the Cisco Secure Services Client (SSC), and describe the Cisco Compatible Extensions program
  • Describe and configure wireless security
  • Manage the wireless network from the Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS)
  • Maintain and troubleshoot wireless networks

This course prepares student towards Cisco CCNA-Wireless Certification and CCNP-Wireless Certification.
